Bear Hunt Revisited For the Modern Age

This came to me in the middle of the nightIt is dedicated to all those young children who are denied the experience of walking to school and the enjoyment of splashing in puddles, squelching through mud and collecting sticks.............

Bear Hunt Revisited

I’m sitting in my car seat
I cannot move a muscle
I’m really safe

Uh-oh pot holes
We can’t go over them, we can’t go under them
Oh-no, we’ll have to go through them
Bump scrape, bump scrape, bump scrape

I’m sitting in my car seat
I cannot move a muscle
I’m really safe

Uh-oh speed bumps
We can’t go over them, we can’t go under them
Oh-no, we’ll have to go through them
Bounce smash, bounce smash, bounce smash

I’m sitting in my car seat
I cannot move a muscle
I’m really safe

Uh-oh a traffic jam
We can’t go over it, we can’t go under it
Oh-no, we’ll just have to wait
Tick-tock, tick tock, tick-tock

What’s this?
One glowing red face, two crying eyes – it’s Mum!

Where are we?
Rows and rows of big cars, lots of crying children
It’s school!
………………..

I don’t want to do the school-run again!!
